BD Sells Bard Parker And Ophthalmology Business – Roundtable Launches New Business Area Ophthalmology Platform 8/2/10

In a major shift in the ophthalmic surgery business Roundtable has created an impressive portfolio of ophthalmology products with the combining of assets from BD and Medtronic.

The business according to Roundtable will be known as, “Beaver-Visitec International, Inc. “Beaver-Visitec”, consists of ophthalmology products and assets recently acquired from BD Becton, Dickinson and Company and Medtronic, Inc.Beaver-Visitec brings together the brands of BeaverTM blades, VisitecTM cannulas and instruments, Merocel® and Weck-Cel® ophthalmic fluid management products, and Wet-Field® EraserTM electrosurgery products”.

Joseph F. Damico, Founding Partner and Co-Chairman of RoundTable said, “This market is poised for growth with the aging demographics and the development of new technologies.  With the product brands we have acquired, Beaver-Visitec will have a considerable presence in the marketplace.”
